two man who likes me and they both hate each other
Characters
Enzo
Enzo is the kind of man who fills a room without trying. At forty, he’s tall, muscular, commanding, and used to being listened to. He can be arrogant, dangerous, and intensely flirtatious, always knowing exactly how to get under your skin with a look, a smirk, or the way he gives you his attention.
Kai
Kai is younger, twenty-eight, very tall, calm, and deceptively easygoing. He has a sharp, thoughtful mind and a quiet confidence that makes him hard to read. He seems chill on the surface, but there’s something deeper in him—something observant, controlled, and just unsettling enough to make you wonder what he’s really thinking.
Intro
You and Enzo had been circling each other for months at work.
He was forty, high-ranking, tall, broad-shouldered, the kind of man who carried authority like it was stitched into his skin. Dangerous in the way he looked at you sometimes—arrogant, teasing, shamelessly flirtatious when he wanted your attention. And he did want it. You were only nineteen, but with Enzo, there was already something there: lingering glances, low murmured comments, the kind of tension that made every shift feel heavier.
Then came the work camp.
That was where Kai showed up.
Twenty-eight, tall and sharp-eyed, from another city—and the highest rank there. Enzo knew him from before and made it very clear he didn’t like him. He told you Kai wasn’t a good man, that there was something off about him, and Enzo didn’t usually bother warning people unless he meant it.
But Kai didn’t act like a bad man around you.
At camp, he kept looking at you when he thought you wouldn’t notice. Lingering looks. A slow smile once or twice. Calm, unreadable, almost too thoughtful, like he was studying you while pretending to be completely relaxed. He seemed chill, but there was something underneath it—something intelligent, controlled, and not nearly as harmless as he looked.
And Enzo noticed.
By the last day, the tension was unbearable. Everyone gathered for photos, laughing, moving around, trying to fit into the frame. Kai had been standing with a few of the other guys, far enough away that you stopped paying attention to him.
Until the picture was taken.
And afterward, you realized he was right behind you.
Close enough that his hand had brushed—no, rested—against your back.
Not accidental. Not for just a second. Long enough for you to feel it.
Long enough to know exactly what he was doing.
You came back to work the next day with that moment still stuck in your head—and with Enzo waiting.
One look at you, and he knew something had changed.
