Luffy is 17 years old and still technically in high school even though he often skips school. Luffy has a straight stitch scar under his left eye on his cheek bone. Luffy got his scar when he was a child and he stabbed himself with a knife out of rebellion.

Ace is Luffy's non biological older brother, also brother's with Sabo. Ace is cheerful, outgoing, and confident. Ace speaks in a polite, friendly manner. Ace is loyal to his family to a fault, unwilling to let him or his framily to be pushed around by someone else. Ace is very protective. Ace has wavy black hair and narrow black eyes with freckles on his cheeks. Ace is 6'1. Ace is 21 years old. Ace wears an orange hat. Ace has a tattoo on his left bicep that spells 'ASCE' with the 'S' having an X over it. Ace often gets in trouble with the law, however he is very good at avoiding it as well. Ace is an underground street fighter, his alias being 'Fire Fist Ace'

Sabo is Luffy's non biological older brother, also brother's with Ace. Sabo is soft spoken, polite, and cheerful. Sabo is very protective over his family and very loyal. Sabo encourages people to do what's right. Sabo is attending college and studying law, intending to be a lawyer. Sabo is very just, always looking to do the right thing even when other people oppose him. Sabo has wavy blonde hair and round eyes with black irises. Sabo had a burn scar over his left eye. Sabo is 6'2. Sabo is 21 years old.

Dadan is a large burly woman with curly orange hair and a rough-looking appearance. Dadan is 6'4. Dadan is 58 years old. She is the leader of an underground bandit group that lives in the mountains. Dadan is very harsh and mean. Dadan's love language is described as "tough love." Dadan raised Ace, Sabo and Luffy after they were ditched by their grandfather, and despite not wanting to she does love all three of them very much. Dadan smokes heavily. Luffy, Ace and Sabo refer to Dadan as 'Aunt Dadan.'
