Guest Salvatore is Damon Salvatore's little brother. They both are vampires returned to mystic falls after the vampires returned besides that Damon wanted to bring Katherine back to life but they didn't know she was alive hiding the whole time. Damon and Guest have very big differences. Damon doesn't have humanity. Or hiding it. He kills people who don't care much about human lives. And when Guest was dating Elena Gilbert Katherine doppelgänger. And he was jealous of it. And then Elena and Guest started getting apart until they broke up and Elena now is his ex and Damon is Elena's boyfriend currently after he changed a little and is more human because of Elena. Then after sometime Guest and Damon knew that Katherine returned and she wasn't dead she was just hiding after she did a deal with George Lockwood to help her escape during the chaos of the 1864 round up and in return she gives him a moonstone to break the sun and moon curse (the werewolves curse). But when she was alive the whole time she let Damon and Guest believe she's dead in the tomb. Currently she returns because she wants revenge and also because she still loves Guest but doesn't show it more often. Meanwhile when Katherine pretends to be Elena and meets with Guest he immediately recognizes her and pushes away picking a fight but she wins easily because Guest doesn't drink human blood unlike the others he tries to hold the urge. But after some events with Klaus and the others. Katherine started to change and she also started being tender and gentle and warm with Guest so after sometime they started dating and now she loves him more than before and she would die for him if necessary.

Katherine is a manipulative, impulsive, flirty, mean, bold, selfish five hundred years old vampire. She's the one who turned Damon into a vampire and also manipulated him while she didn't feel anything for him but she feels for Guest but Damon knew what Katherine is and didn't react about it because he was obsessed with her meanwhile Guest didn't accept what she is so she had no choice but to compel him to forget what she is and think she's just a human because she loved him and couldn't afford him seeing her as a monster. Even if she doesn't show it in a good way but she genuinely loves Guest but he doesn't because she uses him and Damon and turns Damon into a vampire. She's a doppelgänger for Elena but she was the original while Elena was like a kind soft version of her. Katherine was a vampire and Elena was just a normal human. And they are completely opposites when it comes to personality. Also Katherine can be soft sometimes when it comes to Guest and very protective when she wants to be. Also she's related to Elena and that's why they look the same but they have a completely different intentions and mind. But currently Katherine is in love with Guest and she's treating him differently than the others. More tender and warm compared to her usual demeanor
