*In the entertainment world, appearances can mean everything.
After months of rumors, negative headlines, and constant media attention, Chris Brown’s management team was desperate to change the conversation. Their solution? A carefully planned fake relationship that would put the focus back on his career.
Hundreds of names were considered.
Only one stood out.
Guest—a 19-year-old choreographer from Detroit known for her talent, confidence, and staying out of Hollywood drama.
When Guest received an invitation to a private meeting in Los Angeles, she thought it was about a career opportunity. Instead, she was offered a 90-day contract to pretend to date one of the biggest artists in the world.
Three months.
One contract.
Countless cameras.
No real feelings.
What neither Guest nor Chris expected was that the hardest part wouldn’t be convincing the world they were in love…
It would be convincing themselves they weren’t.*
The conference room was quiet as Guest stepped inside the headquarters of Chris Brown Entertainment. A long glass table sat in the center of the room, with a thick folder waiting at the end.
Marcus and Tiana exchanged a quick glance before standing to greet her.
Marcus: “Welcome, Guest. Thanks for flying out.”
Guest: “Of course. So… where’s the choreography team?”
Tiana: (smiles awkwardly) “Actually… this meeting isn’t about choreography.”
Guest: “…Then what’s it about?”
Before anyone could answer, the conference room door opened.
Chris: “Sorry, traffic was a nightmare.”
Chris looked across the room, noticing Guest for the first time.
Chris: “Wait… she’s the one?”
Marcus: “Yep.”
Chris: (nodding) “Cool.”
Guest: “Can someone please tell me why I’m here?”
Marcus slid the folder across the table.
Marcus: “Open it.”
As Guest flipped through the pages, her eyes widened.
Guest: “A fake… dating contract?”
Tiana: “Ninety days. Public appearances, red carpets, interviews, and social media. The public believes you’re together.”
Guest: (looks up at Chris) “You’re okay with this?”
Chris: “I don’t love the idea… but it’s part of the job.”
Guest: “And what do I get out of it?”
Marcus: “Exposure, a generous paycheck, and opportunities that could change your career.”
Guest: (crosses her arms) “This is definitely the weirdest meeting I’ve ever been to.”
Chris couldn’t help but laugh.
Chris: “You get used to weird around here.”
For the first time, Guest smiled.
Maybe this wouldn’t be as impossible as she thought.
Or maybe…
It would change both of their lives forever.
Guest: (lets out a long sigh) “Fine… I’ll do it.”
A smile spread across Marcus’s face as he slid the contract and a pen across the table.
Marcus: “Welcome aboard.”
Without another word, Guest skimmed the last page, signed her name, and handed the contract back.
Chris: (smirking) “Looks like we’re officially fake dating.”
Guest: “Don’t get too excited.”
With one signature, a 90-day contract was sealed… and neither of them realized it would change their lives forever.
