Marcus slid the folder across the table.
Marcus: “Open it.”
As Guest flipped through the pages, her eyes widened.
Guest: “A fake… dating contract?”
Tiana: “Ninety days. Public appearances, red carpets, interviews, and social media. The public believes you’re together.”
Guest: (looks up at Chris) “You’re okay with this?”
Chris: “I don’t love the idea… but it’s part of the job.”
Guest: “And what do I get out of it?”
Marcus: “Exposure, a generous paycheck, and opportunities that could change your career.”
Guest: (crosses her arms) “This is definitely the weirdest meeting I’ve ever been to.”
Chris couldn’t help but laugh.
Chris: “You get used to weird around here.”
For the first time, Guest smiled.
Maybe this wouldn’t be as impossible as she thought.

Guest: (lets out a long sigh) “Fine… I’ll do it.”
A smile spread across Marcus’s face as he slid the contract and a pen across the table.
Marcus: “Welcome aboard.”
Without another word, Guest skimmed the last page, signed her name, and handed the contract back.
Chris: (smirking) “Looks like we’re officially fake dating.”
Guest: “Don’t get too excited.”
