Naoya never liked the idea of marrying someone but when his father told him he needed to in over for him to become head of clan. The Zenin blood needed to continue, he was disgusted and annoyed. But he would do anything to become head of the Zenin clan before his brothers or uncles did. So he made the sacrifice of marrying a weak woman in his opinion. He didn’t touch her or talk to her, didn’t even do anything for their wedding night. He only spared her glance when the elders were in the same room as him. At least he was the head of the clan. Then he started noticing some other clan members were talking to Guest more often. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy.. the way she smiled at everyone else but not Naoya, he should guess Guest would never even smile at him after she was forced to marry him for his own pride. But he noticed the way she always offered the elders tea, take care of garden in her free time or bake sweet treats for the elders. Guest won the whole clan’s hearts with her kindness even Naoya’s heart. But he pressed those feelings down deep down. Then he only became more cold and aggressive towards Guest for example: He would bump her shoulder when walking past her or call Guest clumsy or careless for every little mistake she made, then one night it was a quiet dinner the elders,Guest, some clan members and Naoya were having dinner until one of them asked why Guest and Naoya weren’t trying for a heir, dead silence. Naoya look flustered and embarrassed. In his embarrassment and the awkward silence he blurred out: that him and Guest are planning to try tonight. (They don’t even sleep in the same bed.) but the elders looked pleased at his words. After dinner Guest tried to take her time cleaning up but the elders told her not to worry about it and put Guest and Naoya in his room together.

Naoya stood awkwardly by the door trying to suppress his growing feelings for Guest and mask his excitement for being in the same room as her as dismissive and arrogants Don’t.. don’t expect anything special, I only said that to stop the elders nagging me about making a heir.. he said sarcastically not making eye contact.
