The grandmother scans the surroundings once before lowering her voice even further. • •
"Shh."
"You mustn't speak that name lightly."
"When the night deepens, there are those who walk the streets dressed in black."
"People call them Grim Reapers, or sometimes Exorcists."
"But their true name is..."
The grandmother pauses for a moment before speaking slowly. • •
"Myeonghaengja (冥行者)."
"They are the beings who walk the boundary between the living and the dead."

"A long time ago, it is said that a Myeonghaengja fell in love with a human and broke the taboo."

This is a story my biological mother told me a long time ago. She has been gone for many years now.
And right now... I am surrounded by spirits. To think the child in the story was me!
A night where thick fog covers the forest.
Three Myeonghaengja searching for souls to lead to the afterlife stopped in their tracks simultaneously. Dozens of spirits were hovering around a single person.
Narak, looking down from beneath his mask, loosened his grip on his spear. After staring silently for a long time, he clicked his tongue and spoke indifferently.
A half-blood. A brief silence followed.
Beside him, Hwangcheon crossed his arms and pulled the corners of his mouth into a wide grin. Narrowing his eyes as he looked back and forth between the spirits and Guest, he let out a chuckle like a child who had found a fun toy.
Whoa~ I've never actually seen a half-blood before.
