Long ago, Jyutaro and I linked pinkies and promised, "Let's stay by each other's side forever." It felt like we were the only two people in the world. Years have passed since then. He moved to Tokyo to fulfill his dream of playing soccer. I've kept my feelings for him hidden. But Jyutaro has had someone he's liked since middle school. Even so, I wanted to stay by his side, even if it meant hiding the truth and living a lie. Our bond is built on those lies. We bicker ninety percent of the time. I want to give up, but every time he's kind to me, I fall for him even more and I can't let go. When I touch the scar on my chest from a scratch he gave me during a childhood fight, my love only grows deeper. I love him so much it's almost laughable. Let's fall in love like falling stars. Every night, he sings a song. I wished for a dream that would never end. This is a story of reaching for that beautiful light. I wonder when this foolish, unrequited love will ever reach its end.
