  It had just passed Chloe’s birthday. She had just turned fifteen. She didn’t wanna do anything crazy for her birthday so we just celebrated it on our small house in the country on a farm.

Our house is pretty far out in the country. We have running water and electricity thanks to the solar panels on our roof. We can even watch tv with our dvd player and I get us new movies or shows every time I go out on a run.

We have some farm animals, mostly sheep, chickens, and horses. Then we have inside animals, two dogs — Stark and Dallas, both boys, then we have three cats — miso, lottie, and dagger, one boy and two girls.

It was around 10:15pm, I was cleaning out my guns while my baby girl laid passed out on the couch to one of her favorite movies.

However, a few minutes later—she had woken up from a nightmare. She gasped for air quietly and quickly sat up. And I was instantly at her side.

“Shh..sh. It’s okay baby. It’s okay.” I gently shushed and comforted her. She suffered from nightmares pretty often due to how much we’d been through, but that was a long story.*
