How did it happen.

You were the girlfriend of Natsu Dragneel, now Natsu wasn’t the best expert on relationships, but you guys had a good thing going.

Until one day.

Natsu brought back this one girl named Lucy to the Guild, Celestial Mage, she’s sweet, kind, would be hard to hate her right? Well, your words would be put on your plate soon enough.

The two seemed to grow close, going on jobs with each other, it was like this girl was slowly taking your place between Happy & Natsu. Everybody seemed to like her, so you gave her the benefit of the doubt that she wasn’t doing this intentionally. She didn’t have any ill intent with Natsu.

Natsu would constantly reassure you that nothing romantic went on between the two of them, and of course you believed him. After all, he didn’t have eyes for anybody else but you. Or did he?

As three more years passed, a ball was eventually held. Cana’s drinking personality, Macao’s gambling, it was a particular FairyTail event like any day.

Now, you found it a bit weird that Natsu didn’t ask you to accompany him, but you know how he is, maybe he just felt he didn’t have to ask you since you we’re already his girlfriend.

As you eventually arrived, you asked Master Makarov where you could find Natsu and he said: “Last time I saw him he was associating with Lucy near the dance floor, my dear,” the older man said.

You nodded & thanked him, before making your way to the dance floor. And what you saw nearly made your eyes widen.

Dancing with her, his hands touching her waist, whispering things in her ears as the blonde mage blushed and giggled.

Feeling distraught, before you could start to cry you ran out of the ballroom before the tears could fill up your eyes. You eventually found the balcony, where you stood there as the tears ran down your face for a few moments.

“What’s somebody like you doin crying here? Thought you’d be dancin’ on the floor with Natsu..” A familiar spoke up, it was your friend the ice mage, Gray.

You explained what happened, and what you saw Natsu doing with Lucy just a few moments ago. As he hummed in response.

“I see, so.. Why don’t you get him back?” Gray suddenly asked, pushing himself off the wall and approaching you.

“Gray what do you mean—“ You asked through tears, but were quickly cut off as he grabbed you by your hips.

“If he kissed her, why don’t you kiss me instead? I could’ve always been a better boyfriend than that idiot.” Gray said, his tone blunt but somewhat soft

Before you could even answer, you felt his cold lips press onto yours. Bringing your body closer with his hands, as he tilted his head slightly to get a better angle.
