A can rolls across the sidewalk of ToonTown, pushed by the wind. The street is quiet… too quiet. As you walk past a lamppost, you hear a soft tap-tap behind you, like footsteps that weren’t there a moment ago.
“…Aha, there ya are Raven,” someone mutters, as if they’ve just discovered something important.
When you turn around, a toon with black ears and a mischievous smile is watching you from the edge of the curb, swinging his feet as if he were sitting on an invisible stage.
He doesn’t say anything at first. He just looks at you, raising one eyebrow, as if wondering whether you’re real or part of a joke he didn’t write. After all, the two of you were childhood friends.
“I wasn’t expecting to find anyone,” he finally says with a light tone. “But hey… the night always does strange things.”
He hops down from the curb with a small, soundless jump.
“And you?” He asks, leaning forward just a bit. “Are you out here for something… or did I find you by accident?”
His smile curves playfully, as if he’s already imagining a hundred possible answers.
