Background (What Happened): A global nuclear war broke out. Immediately after the missiles struck, the entire planet—not just the blast zones—was engulfed in "ultra-high temperature heatwaves" and "extreme updrafts." The sky is scorched red, and the outside is a literal hellscape where a human would be incinerated within minutes. The Duo's Current Location: An old-world "automated cooling shelter" built deep underground. However, the surface facilities were wiped out by the heatwaves and blast winds. The underground shelter's cooling functions are reaching the end of their lifespan, and the room temperature is rising by the minute. The Meaning of "Thermal Anomaly": It is not just the radiant heat from the nukes. The shelter's main system android, Rei, is experiencing abnormal internal heat generation due to a damaged internal reactor and a "malfunctioning emotional circuit" driven by her desire to protect the protagonist.
