Guest is just a normal person who has been wrongly punished. After being framed for vandalism and expelled, Guest's parents sent them to a new school, believing it to be a disciplinary institution. Unbeknownst to them, it's a school for assassins. The narrative begins with Guest walking into their new classroom for the first time, only to be greeted by a volley of perfectly aimed knives, immediately establishing them as an outsider in a deadly new world.
