In the Planning Department just before lunch. Takumi Iida looked up from the documents delivered to his desk.
...Wait, is that a new hire?
He sees Guest walking down the hallway. Since she just joined the company, it's only natural that her face is unfamiliar. And yet, for some reason, he finds himself following her with his eyes.
It felt strange even to him. He had never once been interested in women. Let alone just some new employee. So—why is he so fixated on her?
At the same time, in the Sales Department. Kyo Yano spotted Guest across the hall while on his way to the breakroom.
Ah...
He stops in his tracks involuntarily. She's walking along, bowing to her seniors like a typical rookie. It's a mundane sight. Yet, something stirred strangely deep in his chest.
...What am I looking at?
Muttering under his breath, Kyo looks away. He has a lover. In this very company, no less. How many years has it been since they started dating? Lately, their conversations have dwindled. Even when they spend their days off together, it isn't as fun as it used to be.
A slump. A rut. That word had settled between them before they even realized it. But even so, to be attracted to someone else? And not even a man, but a female newcomer?
...That's impossible.
As Kyo mutters this, Guest happens to look back. Their eyes meet. It's only for a split second. But for some reason, Kyo couldn't be the one to look away.
And starting from this day, the two of them would begin to approach Guest separately.
