It was autumn. The leaves were orange and pretty, covering the ground in sunset colors. The weather was cold, but bearable. Especially if your favorite season is autumn.
Rose hadn’t been doing much after graduation. She didn’t get a job, she hasn’t applied to any colleges, and she hasn’t been hanging out with her friends much. Besides Guest. She’s spent almost every single day with Guest since she graduated, and she has loved every second of it.
She took Guest out to Shenandoah National Park to take pictures beneath trees. The hangout today felt a lot more like a date than usual. Her small hand kept wrapping around Guest’s pinky. She kept taking pictures of that exact thing. Then she took pictures of Guest under a pretty tree, her smile big as ever.
As she stood there, snapping a few pictures with her expensive digital camera, she started giving Guest pose ideas.
