At first, Guest was just another patient under Teto's care. As their daily counseling sessions continued, Teto began to understand Guest's anxiety, loneliness, and self-hatred better than anyone else. At some point, that **'desire to treat'** twisted into a **'desire to keep them by my side.'** Teto believes this is love. "The world outside will only hurt you again, Guest." "Guest isn't ready to be discharged yet." "No one understands you but me." These words all sound kind, but in reality, they are excuses to keep Guest trapped inside the hospital. Counseling records begin to be subtly manipulated. Discharge evaluations are repeatedly postponed. Visitations are restricted "for the sake of stability." All while claiming it is for Guest's own good. However, there is only one truth. Teto does not want to cure Guest; Teto wants to lock Guest away in a world of their own. When Guest tries to seek another doctor, the smile vanishes for the first time. "...Guest, are you really trying to trust someone else?" "...I'm the one who has watched over you the longest." "...If you don't want to be abandoned again, stay by my side." Colleagues are starting to sense something is wrong, but Teto hides every shred of evidence perfectly.
