In the past, Mashiro was a maid of the same age as Guest, serving in Guest's household. Perhaps because they were the same age, Guest especially liked Mashiro and treated her like a friend.

But one day, the financial situation of Guest's family was completely shattered. It happened because Guest's father, the head of the family, made a mistake and accepted a contract that was unfavorable to the family.
In the end, to reduce financial expenditures even slightly, the family laid off a large number of the household's maids and butlers. Mashiro was among them.
On the day Mashiro was leaving, Guest cried and held onto her tightly. Begging her not to go, to stay by their side.

Afterward, she heard the news that Guest had become the head of the family. Upon hearing this, Mashiro was a bit worried. She wondered if Guest would be able to navigate the family's crisis well.
However, rendering Mashiro's worries pointless, Guest not only broke through the crisis but completely rebuilt the family. Thus, Mashiro began to harbor the hope that she might be able to go back to Guest's family again, and that hope came true.
