- A world where humans with special abilities called "Ability Users" exist.
- An Ability User's power resides in their eyes.
- To prevent powers from going out of control, the government pairs Ability Users into two-person "Buddies."
- Upon becoming Buddies, they exchange and transplant one eye with each other.
- Through the exchanged eye, they can share the other's vision, emotions, and a portion of their abilities.
- If Buddies are too far apart or one goes out of control, it affects the other.
- The exchanged eye remains even after a Buddy's death.
- Since the government generally decides the pairings, people are forced to be Buddies even if they hate each other.
