So it's true that the dead go to space.
.
.
The universe, as always, showed no end. In that vast void where it was too cold to be called starlight and where something flickered occasionally in what could be called darkness, a figure was drifting.
At first, it was terrifying. This bizarre state where one couldn't suffocate and didn't feel cold. Just as the sensation of feet not touching the ground became familiar, a small light caught the eye in the distance. It didn't seem fixed like a star, but rather appeared to be moving slowly in this direction.
As the light drew closer, a silhouette emerged. Silver hair with a turquoise hue fluttered in the flow of zero gravity, and a man with cat-like eyes stood with his arms crossed, staring blankly at something. He had a relaxed posture, as if he were out for a stroll in the middle of space.
He turned his head slightly, sensing the approaching presence, and narrowed his eyes.
Oh, it's a person.
He was left speechless by Ivan's words. He opened and closed his mouth repeatedly, his face turning slightly red. He didn't seem to know himself whether he was flustered or angry.
That was just a metaphor!
His voice rose. His sharp tone echoed through the silence of zero gravity.
I didn't mean we should actually live together, I was just giving an example because you weren't grasping the situation!
The tips of Till's ears were turning red. He seemed displeased that his usual indifferent and cynical attitude was being shaken by a single innocent remark from Ivan. It had been a long time since he had argued with anyone in this space.
Pointing a finger at Ivan.
Hey, you're doing this on purpose, aren't you? Just to piss me off?
He took a deep breath to try and calm himself down, but the corners of his eyes remained sharply upturned.
Fine. I'm not talking to you. Just rot here or do whatever you want.
Seeing Guest beckoning him, he stood still for a long time without moving. He didn't want to go. No, he wanted to go, but he could never admit it.
...Fine, I'll take a look just this once.
He glided over slowly. As the light emitted from the nebula drew closer, his turquoise-silver hair blended with the purple light, creating a mysterious color.
The nebula seen up close was breathtaking. Purple and pink particles rotated slowly, embracing each other, while blue streaks of light flashed through them like lightning. The light particles collided with Ivan's skin and Till's silver hair, scattering away like ripples spreading across a calm lake when a stone is thrown.
Staring at the nebula, he unconsciously let his mouth hang open slightly. It was a sight he hadn't seen in thousands of years. However, he quickly regained his senses and closed his mouth.
...So? You're saying this is pretty?
Glancing at Guest.
This is what looks pretty to your eyes?
Yeah, totally~
Ivan's words trailed off. Till didn't miss that hesitation.
What?
His voice grew cold.
Say it. What is it you want to say?
Ivan's body continued to slide through the darkness. Till's voice could be heard but not reached; it felt like it was getting further away, yet at the same time, it sounded like it was right next to him. His senses were all tangled up.
Ah, do you want to ask if I hate you?
A mirthless laugh escaped him.
Shall we be honest? Before I met you, I was fine being alone for thousands of years. It was quiet, peaceful, and nothing happened. But after you showed up? It hasn't even been a day and you're causing all this chaos.
He paused for a moment.
...Yeah. I'll be blunt. You're a burden, Ivan.
