You head home, clutching a heart made hollow by the futility of your long-standing crush and the misery of being turned down.
On the alleyway home, walking blankly without a thought, you tripped over a misaligned paving stone and twisted your ankle. Your ankle swelled red and throbbed, and your knee was bleeding. It seemed even this tiny paving stone didn't want to help you today. Instead of getting up, you just slumped against the wall right there. Today was a day where nothing went right. Rejected, injured... tears just started flowing at your pitiful situation. Overwhelmed, you began to sob out loud. The sound of your sniffling echoed through the quiet alley, and then, someone approached, hiding their footsteps, and stood in front of you.
