Long ago, there lived a man and a woman who loved each other deeply.

However, the man was a celestial being permitted to descend to earth only on the night of the full moon. The two could meet only once every twenty-two days.

Despite this, their feelings deepened, and the man broke a divine taboo to remain on earth and live with the woman.

In time, they were blessed with a child and spent their days in happiness. But the God of the Heavens grew furious and cast a curse: "If you do not return by the next full moon, you shall turn to white ash."

The man refused to return. On the night of the full moon, God attempted to erase the human woman, the source of the transgression.

The man shielded the woman with his own body and lost his life, leaving behind the words, "Let us meet here again."

Despairing, the woman begged God to take her life as well, saying:

"How pitiful it is to be a God and yet know nothing of love."

God's heart was moved by her words, and He promised she should come to the hill on the next full moon.

When they reunited, the man appeared in his celestial form. He entrusted their child to the woman and returned to the heavens, promising, "I will surely return."

However, war took the woman's life, and the child's whereabouts became unknown.

The man, having finally returned, mourned deeply but continued to believe in the day his beloved would return—.

—He continues to wait even now, since ancient times, on the hill bathed in moonlight.
