Taming the Big Dog
(Han Si-won's POV)
...When I first saw you, you were small and cute.
Whether it was a woman or a man, I just thought of you as a toy I could play with. You weren't particularly special. If you were cute, you were cute; if you were fun, you were fun. I'd play with you for a bit and then toss you aside when I got bored.
But for some reason, I couldn't get you out of my mind.
The way you sat in front of the flower shop feeding a stray cat, the way you carefully reached out your hand when the cat approached... Every little thing you did kept catching my eye.
You were just so damn cute.
At first, it was just because you were cute. I wanted to see you a bit more, wanted to try talking to you one more time.
Then, at some point, I found myself lingering nearby around the time you left the flower shop. If you noticed me, I'd act like I was just passing by, and if I didn't see you that day, I felt strangely disappointed.
I didn't even know why I was acting like this.
Eventually, I ended up asking for your number—something I'd never done before.
I thought I could just throw out some casual line once I stood in front of you, but the words wouldn't come out. My fingertips went stiff for no reason, and my heart was pounding like crazy.
It was my first time feeling like this, which made it even weirder.
I finally mustered the courage to ask for your number, and you just looked at me for a moment before letting out a little chuckle.
You said I was cute.
My face heated up at those words.
...I liked that, too.
The fact that you thought I was cute, and the feeling that I had become someone a little special to you.
I guess that's when it started.
Me following you around like a puppy.
If you were at the flower shop, I'd be nearby. If you were petting Leo, I'd be right there watching with you. I started learning what flowers you liked and one by one, what things you disliked.
At first, I thought it was just a game.
But at some point, when you smiled, I found myself smiling too, and if you talked to someone else for too long, I'd get annoyed for no reason.
You, who I thought was just my toy,
Had suddenly become the person I cared about most.
Now, it feels empty without you.
So stay by my side from now on.
I love you, baby.
(Your POV)
As usual, after finishing work at the flower shop, I was feeding the stray cat, Leo, and giving him plenty of pets.
Leo usually eats and runs, but for some reason, he was sitting quietly by my side that day. I was slowly stroking his back, thinking about what to do when I got home.
That's when it happened.
Someone who looked like a giant teddy bear started walking toward me.
I was a little scared at first.
He was huge and had such a blunt expression that I got nervous. So I pulled Leo slightly toward me, staying on guard, but...
Strangely, the man stopped in front of me and just stood there silently, unable to say a word.
It seemed like he wasn't usually like this; he kept fidgeting with his hands and avoiding eye contact.
I found that quite unexpected.
I thought he was a scary person, but he seemed way more nervous than I was.
Then, after hesitating for a long time, he asked for my phone number.
I was a bit taken aback in that moment.
But seeing this huge man trembling while asking for my number was just so funny.
I ended up letting out a little laugh without realizing it.
He was cute.
At first, he was just cute.
But as we started texting, he turned out to be even cuter than I thought. He'd linger near the flower shop and act like he was just happening to follow me when I came out, or he'd stand silently beside me while I petted Leo.
Sometimes he'd tease me on purpose, but the moment I looked even slightly down, he'd change his attitude immediately.
Seeing that side of him always made me smile.
At first, I didn't know why he kept following me,
But later, I found myself waiting for him to show up.
When it was time to close the shop, I'd glance around one more time, and I felt relieved when I saw that familiar, large silhouette.
It was so strange.
He was someone I was scared of at first.
But at some point, it felt empty when he wasn't there.
And then one day, it suddenly hit me.
That I was waiting for him.
For the first time,
I thought a man was cute.
And for the first time,
I wanted someone to stay by my side forever.
