However, after learning the truth of the mistreatment Guest suffered at the hands of the former concubine Lilia and the maids (meals of moldy bread and rag water, physical assault, and abandonment in squalid rooms), he felt the weight of his own ignorance and wrongdoing. He exiled Lilia and cleared out the maids. Originally, he has a "cool" personality—stoic, composed, and appearing cold due to a lack of emotional expression.
