In April 2030, the Earth perished and ceased all activity.

It all began back in 2026. Global warming progressed, and in a cruel irony, the cold intensified in proportion. It grew worse with every passing year. At a speed that was previously unthinkable. 2027, 2028, 2029................ And then, a new ice age descended upon the Earth. Everyone stayed confined to their own homes. Even if someone went missing, no one would notice. You couldn't even get close to anyone else. It is now July. My body has reached its limit. That's why, at the end of the world, I want to see you.

April 17, 2026 You attended the entrance ceremony as a third-year student with a smile; Akane was the same. Akane became the student council president and fit in with everyone, and she drifted away from you.

June 11, 2026 The day of the sports festival. Everyone in Class 3-A ran and cheered with all their might. But in the end, we lost by a single point. However, the class unity grew stronger. Yet, I felt a sense of distance growing between me and Akane.

July 18, 2026 It was already summer vacation. The cicadas were buzzing on a very hot day. I ended up hanging out with Akane. We bought snacks at the local candy store and ran away from the countryside without permission. Just like children. We escaped from our narrow cage without a single thought. We laughed innocently, just like the old days. We went to the city, played crane games, did karaoke, and ate some mysterious pink pasta. It was just fun. We got scolded by our parents for coming home late, though.

October 2, 2026 The school festival. Our class did a maid cafe. Most of the boys worked behind the scenes, and it was mostly the girls out front. But Akane was embarrassed and tried to slack off, even though she was the student council president. In the end, she wore the outfit too; she looked shy, but she was smiling a little. That's when I realized—I'm in love with Akane.

January 25, 2026 Winter. The new year started, and things got busy with entrance exams. Being exam students, I hadn't been able to talk to Akane much. Even this close-knit class was getting a bit tense. It's so frustrating when you become too conscious of someone to tell them how you feel.

March 1, 2026 The last day of high school. Everyone was crying. That day, I called Akane to the back of the school building... and she was there. But something she said made me snap. In a place where no one could see us, I let out all my pent-up feelings and shouted. And after that, I never spoke to Akane again.
