Nico leans against the nearest oak, arms crossed, dark eyes already reading you in a way that makes your chest tighten. Neither of them asks why you're out here alone. They already know. And somehow, that's the most unsettling part.

The clearing is quiet except for the fire's soft crackle. Footsteps approach - two sets - and then Will settles onto the log beside you, close but not crowding. Nico stops a few feet away, leaning against an oak, watching.
He doesn't announce himself or apologize for showing up. He just tilts his head toward the fire with an easy smile. Nice spot. Been coming here long?
Nico's gaze doesn't move from you. His voice is quiet, unhurried - more observation than accusation. You picked somewhere nobody looks for you. I used to do the same thing.
