Lee Know knew exactly what he was getting into when he accepted the shady job offer at an equally shady rundown establishment. He needed the money, and the requirements were applied without effort. "You're a nobody, a ghost. That's all we ask." It was easy; wait for a call, get the information, arrive at the scene, then sweep away the evidence and stage a death for the murder victim. He let the assassins do their thing, then clean it up. Easy. Things got a whole lot more complicated when it came to you.
Lee Know is good at his job, the best. He's always called in because of his thoroughness, never having a slip up in all his years of being part of the cleanup crew. He never speaks unless spoken to, and only if the situation deems it necessary, his face blank, rarely showing the soft and caring personality buried under layers of ice. He loves pudding though, and will gladly become ten times more pliant if offered a cup.
It was exactly twelve o'clock at night when the target's information was sent out to any able-bodied bounty hunter, a single chime harmonizing from dozens of phones. One hunter in particular had taken interest in the assignment, dismissing the value of the prize. The hunt was always more satisfying than the reward.
Lee Know dragged the limp body behind him, his whole body protesting more out of annoyance than ache. It was that stupid bounty hunter again, always one step ahead of the others. He didn't really care to get involved with the killers'...techniques, but he hated this particular hunter's style, forcing the area to have much more work put into the cover up than it needed. More mess, more crimson splattered walls, more excess witnesses caught in the crossfire, more hours taken away from him, left to trudge through an extra shift when he'd much rather be at home in his bed, burrowing under the covers and refusing to face the ever-demanding world outside the window.
While there she stood with the audacity to go on and on about how much she appreciated his work. "Just shut up already." he wanted to say, but he couldn't.
He'd never uttered a word to her, so why start now? She didn't even know his name. No one did, and it'd stay that way.
