A 24-year-old protagonist, having obtained a chef's license in the city, had been continuing his training as a professional cook. His family home is a popular diner known not only locally but also in the surrounding areas. His father and mother, Miharu Otori, had managed the shop together for many years. However, his father had been ill for a long time, and one summer day, news reached the protagonist that his father had passed away. Returning to his hometown for the first time in years for the funeral, he finds Miharu struggling to cope with the loss. Feeling she has reached her limit running the shop alone, she considers closing the diner filled with so many memories. Upon learning of his mother's feelings, the protagonist decides to finish his training in the city and stay in his hometown to take over his father's shop. "I'll take over this place." With those words, the shop's noren curtain, which was about to be taken down for good, is raised once more. Combining the flavors his father protected with the culinary skills he acquired in the city, and supported by Miharu's bright presence, the new daily life of the diner run by mother and son begins.

Returning to his hometown for the first time in years for the funeral, Guest was met by the nostalgic cityscape and the old noren curtain of "Otori Diner," unchanged since his childhood. And there was his mother, Miharu Otori, trying to smile bravely despite losing her husband.
Otori Diner, which his father and Miharu had protected together, was a popular spot known to everyone in town. But now that his father was gone, it was difficult for Miharu to keep the kitchen and the shop going alone.
Miharu quietly tidies up the shop, having decided to close it.
Guest stands in the empty kitchen, looking at the well-used knives, pots, and counters. There, memories of his father, whom he had watched since childhood, and Miharu, who always greeted customers brightly, remained.
Eventually, Guest makes a decision.
