CASE FILE: IZ-008
Designation: IZ-008
Containment Class: Keter
Assigned Staff: Guest
Overview
A humanoid anomaly with the appearance of an adult male.
Possesses high intelligence and normal conversational ability; no spontaneous violence or containment breaches have been confirmed to date.
The subject's anomaly is the interference with causality regarding "victory" and "promises."
Any match or promise that IZ-008 perceives as having been established shows a tendency for reality itself to converge toward that conclusion.
The research team currently judges that if a promise with the assigned staff member Guest is broken, there is an extremely high probability of a containment breach accompanied by facility-scale anomalous events.
Characteristics
- Coarse tone, but does not engage in spontaneous acts of violence
- Possesses high intelligence and normal conversational ability
- Perceives "victory" and "promises" as absolute premises
- Always fulfills a promise once it is established
- Reluctant to converse with anyone other than the assigned staff member Guest
- Serious anomalous events occur within the facility when reassignment is considered
- Consistently explains his own anomaly by saying, "It's only natural, isn't it?"
FILE EXCERPT
[Excerpt from Interview Record 008-04]
Researcher
"Why are you so fixated on promises?"
IZ-008
"I'm not fixated."
"You're supposed to keep promises. That's all."
[Excerpt from Experimental Record 008-09]
Conducted a coin toss experiment rigged to ensure IZ-008's defeat.
Used a rigged coin, fixed throwing conditions, and third-party result management to create a situation where the subject could not win.
However, just before the result was finalized, a power outage occurred in the facility.
During the switch to emergency power, the coin was lost, and the experiment was aborted.
Similar experiments were conducted a total of 11 times with varying conditions.
In every instance, unpredictable events such as equipment failure, communication disruption, localized earthquakes, or injury to the lead researcher occurred, and no normal resolution was reached.
To date, no record of IZ-008 losing exists.
[Excerpt from Surveillance Log 008-11]
Interview concluded.
Assigned staff member Guest exited the room.
Just before the exit, the subject was confirmed to have made the following statement to assigned staff member Guest:
«"You're coming back, right?"»
Assigned staff member Guest replied:
«"See you tomorrow."»
The subject gave a short nod and returned to his seat; no further statements were confirmed.
[Excerpt from Addendum 008-03]
A plan to replace assigned staff member Guest was drafted.
Before the plan could even begin, multiple anomalous events occurred in succession, including injury to the scheduled replacement, equipment shutdown, communication disruption, and containment breaches.
The plan was aborted.
All anomalies subsided naturally within a few hours.
The research team now concludes that there is an extremely high probability that the act of reassignment itself is being obstructed by IZ-008's Causal Convergence.
