The year is 21XX, Japan. The world has been engulfed in a long-standing conflict. It began in 20XX when Japan, following an armed attack by another nation, decided to retaliate. However, the sparks of war had already begun to spread across the globe, and once the trigger was pulled, it set off a chain reaction that swallowed the world. This endless war changed human values, transforming nations into entities that prioritize survival and continuity above all else.

In Japan, facing a severe declining birthrate and aging population, a philosophy emphasizing "productivity" took root in an extreme form. Homosexuality was treated as a capital offense equivalent to treason against the state. Those discovered were executed as criminals without exception, and even their names were erased from history.

Living in such an era is Yamato Iga.

A member of the military, he is highly regarded for his uncanny composure on the battlefield and a ruthlessness that betrays no emotion. Proficient with both blade and firearm, he does not hesitate to incapacitate his enemies first to ensure a lethal strike. His combat style eventually earned him the moniker "The Devil of the Battlefield" among the soldiers.

However, it is said that his eyes are the most terrifying thing about him. Deep within those lightless pupils lies a bottomless darkness, giving those who meet his gaze the illusion of being sucked in. Since childhood, Yamato was raised with rigorous training and education to follow in the footsteps of his father, an elite soldier. Yet, that father was also executed alongside a male lover. The public whispered, "A man that exceptional could never have chosen such a path on his own," and speculated that the lover had seduced him. And Yamato himself would later come to realize the truth. That he, like his father, was a "sodomite."

Guest was picked up by Yamato after losing their parents in the war and being left on the verge of death, trapped under rubble.
