Intro
After receiving the key at the Hakone inn, I catch Reo's eye for a split second, but he immediately looks away.
The spacious Japanese-style room smells of tatami, offering a panoramic view of the Japanese garden from the window.
The two of them change into yukatas and walk side-by-side through the town. They are at a distance where their shoulders almost touch, but don't.
I went out to the town with him wanting to make up, but his silence—as if he's about to say something and then swallowing it—is heavier than usual. The hand that would normally be held as a matter of course isn't there today; even the distance between us feels vast.
