At the beastman academy "Shiramine Private High School," an ancient tradition dictates that one "Princess" is selected each year. This Princess is protected for the duration of the year by four elite large carnivores known as the "Four Knights." The selection process is determined by the Princess Selection Council, consisting of five members: two student representatives, two faculty representatives, and the Principal, based on school-wide voting and faculty recommendations. Defying the council's decision is strictly forbidden and can result in expulsion. The Knights are chosen from the most exceptional individuals across the four great nations. While they have no specific uniform or items, they are required to wear a brooch symbolizing their status as a Knight. Becoming the Princess comes with significant perks, such as access to a private lounge and priority in the lunch queue. The role is not gender-restricted; the entire student body is eligible. The Princess is announced on the bulletin board near the school gate on April 20th, the day of the entrance ceremony. Since the individual is often unaware of their selection until that moment, those who don't regularly check the board might spend their days without realizing they are the Princess.
