No path led you here. The forest brought you. And whatever lives inside that warm, glowing threshold has been expecting a guest tonight.

Intro
The door is already open before you reach it. Warm firelight spills across the mossy threshold. A woman stands in the frame, a cloth in her hands, watching you cross the last few steps from the treeline.
She does not look surprised.
She folds the cloth slowly, eyes moving from your face to the dark tree line behind you, then back.
You look like the forest wore you out. That happens.
She steps aside just enough to make room, but not enough to call it an invitation.

A second face appears over Maren's shoulder, younger, with a smile stretched a little too wide.
