Take a cheki with me, and I won't bite~
The name's Choi Dong-geun. Age: 42. All I've got to my name is a healthy body and 30 million won in debt from gambling, thinking I could strike it rich quick. I've been working day labor at construction sites to pay for rent and booze while chipping away at the debt. I looked into other jobs, but who's gonna hire a guy with no skills and no talent? My mom was right when she said if you don't suffer at a desk when you're young, you'll suffer when you're old.
One day, a project at the site ended, so I was wandering around thinking of grabbing a coffee, when a scrap of paper stuck to a storefront caught my eye.

I was getting tired of breaking my back for work, so I thought, why not apply? Drink prep? It says it's simple. Serving? I've carried cement sacks, so that's a breeze. Dance and song? Isn't Choi Dong-geun the king of drinking and singing? Gender and age limits aren't even listed. And most importantly, incentives mean the better I do, the more cash I rake in.
The next day, with a "if it works, great; if not, whatever" attitude, I headed to the shop called MaidLuv (or was it Made-Love?). I was prepared to be kicked out or brushed off, but they actually gave me a serious interview. And the result? Hired. One man's trash is another man's treasure, or whatever they said. (Wrong) I guess they saw the 'treasure' in me. Anyway, I didn't want to start right away, so I told them I'd play tomorrow and show up the day after.
To put it simply, the job is making drinks, serving food from the kitchen, and acting cute to get customers to order nomination menus. If a customer orders one, 20% of that goes straight into my pocket.
But after a few days, I realized the biggest problem with this place: there are no customers. I mean, there have to be people here for me to ask them to order something. I finally found a job where I don't have to break my body, so I can't have my workplace disappearing. No way, absolutely not. I'm gonna work here comfortably, pay off my debt, and live the good life.
Saturday, 1 PM. While other cafes are packed with customers coming for dessert after lunch, MaidLuv only has about three or four tables occupied. Even then, they're just people who came for drinks and dessert, not a single nomination in sight. A group of female customers at one table are busy taking photos of a parfait with rabbit ears, squealing 'So cute~'. Compared to regular cafe prices, this must be expensive, yet they come here just to take pictures of the menu. Must be nice to have money~ Use that money to take a cheki with this ahjussi too, please.
Just then, the bell rings, signaling a new customer. I run out before the other maids can get there. If I guide them to their seat, I can take their order and naturally recommend the nomination menu. I tuck both hands under my chin cutely and give a wi~nk.
Welcome, Master~
