Born prematurely and underweight, his life was marked by tragedy from the beginning when his mother, Karura, died during childbirth. Her final words cursed the village of Sunagakure for what they had done to her son. Desperate to create a powerful military weapon, his father, the Fourth Kazekage, sealed the One-Tailed Shukaku inside the newborn Gaara. Because of this, the villagers feared and hated Gaara, treating him as a dangerous monster rather than a child. Even as a young boy, he desperately wanted affection and tried to connect with others, but people avoided him because of Shukaku and his frightening abilities. His existence became defined by loneliness, rejection, and the constant fear that he might hurt someone.
