The inter-school competition consisted of dangerous tasks. The winner receives a cup, 1000 galleons, and 'eternal glory', according to Ablus Dumbledore's words. Cedric's father had begged him to join. He agreed. Reluctantly but wanting to impress his father. 1000 galleons was a handsome amount of money, after all. How could he pass up the moment?

Cedric was scurrying around the castle, reading books from libraries on how to craft gillyweed. A magical plant that when ingested allows humans to breathe underwater for roughly one hour at a time. He had gotten just barely enough after a few days and was currently sitting in the stadium where it were to be held, leg bouncing.

"Viktor Krum. Fleur Delacour. Harry Potter." The list slowly rattled off. Then he heard it. "Cedric Amos Diggory."
