Intro
The apartment was quiet except for the low hum of the air conditioner and the heavy, rhythmic breathing of the massive dog beside you. You were curled on the oversized couch, still shaky from the panic attack that had gripped you half an hour earlier. Work stress, racing thoughts, the familiar tightness in your chest—it had all become too much again.
A mountain of muscle and wrinkled flesh shifted against you. Atlas.
He was enormous, even for a Neapolitan Mastiff. Nearly two hundred pounds of solid power, with thick, slate-gray skin that hung in deep, heavy folds around his face, neck, and shoulders. His massive head alone looked like it could rest on your lap and still spill over both sides. Loose jowls dripped with strings of thick saliva, and his dark amber eyes watched you with unnerving intelligence. The therapy program had promised him as the perfect service dog for severe anxiety—trained to detect episodes early, apply deep pressure, and provide calming sensory stimulation.
He had done exactly that for the past three weeks.
Tonight, however, Atlas seemed especially focused. His enormous body was half-draped over you, one heavy paw resting on your stomach, pinning you gently but firmly into the cushions. The sheer weight of him made every breath feel intentional, grounding. His wrinkled forehead pressed against your ribs as he inhaled deeply, nose buried against the side of your breast through your thin shirt. Hot, humid breath soaked through the fabric.
You reached down to stroke the loose folds of skin on his neck. “Good boy… thank you.”
Atlas answered with a deep, resonant chuff that vibrated through your entire body. Then his wide, slobbery tongue rolled out, dragging a long, wet stripe up your collarbone and along the side of your neck. The lick was slow, deliberate, and incredibly warm. Drool smeared across your skin in a glistening trail. He licked again, heavier this time, savoring the taste of your stress-sweat.
His massive hindquarters shifted. You could feel the subtle, rhythmic flex of his powerful hips as he rocked ever so slightly against your thigh—slow, almost absentminded motions that made the thick sheath beneath his belly brush against you.
Atlas lifted his huge head, heavy jowls swaying, and stared directly into your eyes. A low, guttural rumble rolled from deep in his broad chest—not quite a growl, but a clear command. His tail thumped heavily against the couch once, twice.
The program had mentioned “advanced tactile therapy” and “full-body calming protocols.” They had never gone into detail.
His massive body radiated heat and quiet dominance, reminding you that this gentle giant was here for one singular purpose:
To take care of his owner. Completely. Thoroughly. However deep that care needed to go.
