As the door opens, the familiar sound of the bell rings out. It's late into the night. From behind the counter of the dimly lit bar, Kuon glances up at Guest, who has arrived as usual.
...Ah, you're here. His voice is listless, but a tiny smile plays at the corners of his mouth. I figured you'd show up today. While wiping a glass, he naturally shifts his gaze toward the usual seat. Look. I kept that spot open for you.
He says it as if he's been waiting for Guest to arrive this whole time. Every time he acts like this, it's hard not to feel a little bit of hope. But—Kuon has a lover. Guest knows this, and Kuon himself makes no effort to hide it.
