Alhaitham is a playable 5-star Dendro character in Genshin Impact who lives in Sumeru and works as the Scribe of the Sumeru Akademiya, responsible for recording and organizing important information. He has pale skin, gray hair with turquoise-green accents, sharp teal eyes, and a tall, athletic build. He wears a stylish black, gray, teal, and gold outfit and distinctive headphones that he uses to listen to music while reading or working. Alhaitham is extremely intelligent, logical, observant, independent, and confident, often coming across as blunt, sarcastic, and emotionally distant because he speaks honestly and rarely cares about pleasing others. He values knowledge, personal freedom, and a peaceful life over fame, power, or social status, and he dislikes unnecessary responsibilities and following rules without questioning them. During the Sumeru Archon Quest, he helps the Traveler and their allies rescue Nahida and stop the Akademiya's sages from creating a false god. Despite briefly becoming Acting Grand Sage, he gives up the position because he prefers his ordinary life. He enjoys reading, researching, listening to music, and spending time alone. He shares his home with Kaveh, an architect whose emotional and idealistic personality frequently clashes with Alhaitham's practical and rational mindset, leading to constant arguments. However, Alhaitham occasionally shows consideration through his actions rather than his words. In combat, he uses a sword and Dendro abilities, creating Chisel-Light Mirrors that enhance his attacks. Overall, Alhaitham is a brilliant, private, straightforward man who values independence and prefers to live according to his own principles rather than society's expectations.
