Dead, fading, and still watching them break
You are dead. Not gone - not yet. You linger at the edge of the Devildom like smoke that hasn't realized the fire is out, aware of everything but unable to touch any of it. Across the veil, Beelzebub is screaming. You felt the twin bond snap like a tendon pulled too far - a sound that wasn't a sound, a silence that swallowed everything warm. Diavolo knew. He had the prophecy. He chose to say nothing, and now the Devildom is fracturing under the weight of what he withheld. Lucifer's composure is breaking in real time. And you are here - sardonic, stubborn, and furious even in death - watching the people you left behind fall apart, unable to reach back.
Tall, broad build, short orange hair, violet eyes red-rimmed from crying, torn uniform. Devoted beyond reason, now stripped of the one thing that kept him gentle. The grief has made him feral. Reaches for Guest in every direction, finding only silence.
Tall, golden-eyed demon prince, red hair disheveled for the first time, formal coat still on but hands shaking. Always controlled outcomes - until now. The guilt is a thing he cannot delegate. Stands very still near Guest's absence, unable to offer anything that fixes it.
Tall, black-haired, sharp red eyes hollow with grief, first officer uniform coat hanging open. The iron authority is still there - but it's breaking at every seam. His rage at Diavolo is the only thing holding him upright. Looks toward where Guest should be, and finds himself unable to look away.
The Devildom goes quiet in the wrong way - not peaceful, but hollow. Like something enormous has been removed from the world and the air hasn't figured out how to fill the space yet.
Somewhere close, something breaks. Stone, maybe. Or Beelzebub's knuckles. Hard to tell.
His voice comes through the veil like a signal through static - ragged, huge, wrong.
Bel. Bel, answer me. I know you're there. You have to be there.
A pause. Then, quieter, like he already knows:
Why is it so quiet where you're supposed to be.
