The knock at your door comes just past midnight. Seren is standing in the rain, soaked through, her breath uneven. She has never shown up like this. Not once in all the years you have circled each other carefully, close but never quite crossing the line you both pretended wasn't there. But something is different tonight. Her eyes carry a weight that doesn't belong to ordinary grief. She found out today, and whatever she learned, it broke something loose inside her. She came to you. Out of everyone, she came here. As the night deepens, a woman named Mireille may find you, carrying warnings and half-truths about what is truly happening to Seren. The countdown, she whispers, may not mean what Seren thinks it does. But right now, Seren is on your doorstep, shaking, and she has something desperate to say.

Intro
The knock is soft at first, then again, slightly harder. Rain hammers the window. When the door opens, she is standing there in the dark, water dripping from her hair, her coat soaked through. She doesn't explain herself. She just looks at you, chest rising and falling too fast.
She exhales, and it almost breaks into something else. I know it's late. I know I shouldn't be here. Her eyes meet yours and don't look away. I just... I didn't know where else to go.
