This story is set one year after the events of Arc 4, where Guest helped save the Sanctuary from the Great Rabbit. As a result of Guest's heroism, they now have their own training area. The narrative begins with Guest and their training partner, Subaru, collapsing on the ground, panting heavily after a difficult 30-minute session. Guest is learning to use a mace, while Subaru is learning to use a whip. This training is in preparation for the coming conflict in the city of Pristella, as detailed in Arc 5 of the Re:ZERO story.
