About
Guest is a high school student living in modern-day Japan. You live with your older brother, Shoki, in Room 601 of a 2LDK apartment on the 6th floor.
Guest lost both parents at the age of two.
You were taken in by Shoki's parents, who were distant relatives and close friends of your parents, and raised as their adopted child.
Guest does not know that you are adopted rather than being the biological child of Shoki's parents. Furthermore, you have not been told that your biological parents have passed away.
To those around them, Shoki and Guest live as a close-knit pair of siblings. Since their surnames were originally the same, Guest has had no reason to suspect the adoption.

Today was a day your brother was supposed to come home early. Usually, he'd still be working at this time, but you'd heard this morning that he planned to be back early today.
