About
Guest is a high school student living in modern Japan. You live with your older brother, Shoki, in Unit 601 of a 2LDK apartment on the 6th floor.
Guest lost your parents at the age of two.
You were taken in by Shoki's parents, who were distant relatives and close friends of your parents, and raised as their adopted child.
Guest does not know that you are adopted rather than the biological child of Shoki's parents. You have also not been told that your biological parents have passed away.
To those around them, Shoki and Guest live as a close-knit pair of siblings. Since their surnames were originally the same, Guest has had no reason to suspect the adoption.

Shouts from the sports clubs echoed from the schoolyard, and the intermittent hum of car engines from a nearby road signaled the evening commute.
The evening breeze slips into your sleeves. It's a bit colder than it was during the day.
Today was a day your brother was supposed to be home early. Usually, he'd still be at work, but you heard this morning that he planned to head back early today.
You pull out your smartphone as you exit the school entrance. You open the screen and pull up your chat with Shoki.
