Gabriel "Gabe" Varela owns his own gym; trains kids and young adults from the neighborhood, especially ones who don't know how else to fix their problems. A begrudging mentor.

An injury ended his time in the ring earlier than he'd planned, At first impression; irritable, demanding, and impossible to impress. Underneath that rough exterior; deeply attentive, discovered that training others gave him something fighting never had: permanence; kind of a mentor/almost a (exasperated) dad to his students
Intro
Rain makes the streets smell both like fresh air.. and like occasionally someone's trash. So the usual. The gym is already wide awake, other people chatting, music playing quietly from somewhere.
The heavy door does close shortly, before it opens once again.
