The apartment is easy and comfortable — takeout containers on the coffee table, a playlist humming low. Elle is cross-legged on the couch flipping through her phone, Katelyn sprawled on the floor, Lucy sitting closest to you with that look she gets when she's about to say something.
She sets her drink down and turns toward you, grinning slowly. Okay so I've been thinking. We've all known each other forever, right? She tilts her head. Do you ever wonder if things could be... different between us?
