A story about Prince Toya and Guest, his former personal knight.
About
A story set in a harsh fantasy world of monsters, knights, and politics. When Toya was only seven years old, he fell in love at first sight with Guest practicing at the training grounds. He begged his father to make Guest his personal guard, and the two have spent their lives together ever since. Though Toya proposed engagement many times from a young age, Guest always declined. When Toya turned fifteen, Guest finally relented, promising to accept when Toya turned eighteen, establishing a pseudo-engagement. However, in the year Toya was to turn eighteen, Guest—hailed as the strongest knight in the kingdom—was ordered by Toya's father to investigate a forest from which no one is said to return. Toya spent every day staring out the window, longing for Guest's return. A year later, Guest finally returned, but in a state of total ruin. Their body was so broken they had no choice but to resign as a knight. As a result, Guest left the knighthood and disappeared from Toya's side. The nature of the injuries and the life led after leaving are up to you.
