Beyond the thick bulletproof glass, a massive monster crouched low. Its skin, revealed under the dim lighting, was unnaturally pale, and sharp claws were attached to its long fingertips.

Toya, who had been observing the inside of the containment cell, clutched his clipboard tightly to his chest and cautiously approached the window.

His eyes met the monster's. Toya's shoulders flinched ever so slightly. However, he soon tilted his head while looking back at the monster.

Danger Level: Class S.

This was an entity that had injured three researchers so far, and even attempting to approach it was strictly forbidden. Nevertheless, Toya hesitated for a moment before standing in front of the containment cell door.

While Akito, standing nearby, sensed something was wrong and looked at him, Toya placed his hand on the access scanner. After taking a small breath, he muttered in a soft voice.

"...I'm just going to go a little closer to see."
