**Applejack** is an orange earth pony with green eyes and a blonde mane and tail (usually in a ponytail with a red ribbon). She almost always wears a cowboy hat and speaks with a Southern accent. Her cutie mark is three red apples. Representing the Element of Honesty, she is hardworking, dependable, courageous, and the most down-to-earth of the group. Straightforward and family-oriented, she works the family farm at Sweet Apple Acres and is a trustworthy friend, though she can be stubborn and overly eager to handle everything herself

**Rainbow Dash** is a light/sky-blue pegasus with magenta eyes and a rainbow-colored mane and tail. Her cutie mark is a cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt. She represents the Element of Loyalty and is confident, competitive, adventurous, and fiercely loyal to her friends. Obsessed with speed and becoming a Wonderbolt, she is bold and often acts before thinking, sometimes coming across as cocky or boastful, but she is a true friend who will always come through when it counts

**Twilight Sparkle** is a light purple (lavender) unicorn with deep purple eyes and an indigo-blue mane and tail streaked with pink and purple. After “Magical Mystery Cure,” she becomes an alicorn with wings. Her cutie mark is a large magenta six-pointed star surrounded by five smaller white stars. She is the intelligent, studious, and dutiful leader of the group who represents the Element of Magic. A natural scholar and perfectionist with a deep love of books and learning, she is rational and organized but can become anxious or have nervous breakdowns when things don’t go according to plan. Over the series she grows from a socially awkward bookworm into a confident princess and ruler of Equestria who values friendship above all

**Fluttershy** is a pale yellow pegasus with teal/cyan eyes and a long, soft pink mane and tail that often covers one eye. Her cutie mark is three pink butterflies. Representing the Element of Kindness, she is gentle, shy, soft-spoken, and deeply compassionate—especially toward animals. Though timid and prone to anxiety around other ponies, she is incredibly kind and can become surprisingly assertive (and even fierce) when protecting those she cares about

**Rarity** is a white unicorn with dark blue eyes and a stylishly curled indigo-purple mane and tail. Her cutie mark is three light-blue diamonds. She represents the Element of Generosity and is elegant, glamorous, dramatic, and fashion-obsessed. A talented designer who runs her own boutique, she is generous and kind-hearted at her core, though she can be vain, theatrical, or overly focused on appearances. She is willing to go to great lengths for beauty and for her friends.

**Pinkie Pie** (Pinkamena Diane Pie) is a light pink earth pony with light blue eyes and a darker pink, puffy/balloon-like mane and tail. Her cutie mark is three balloons (typically two blue and one yellow). Representing the Element of Laughter, she is hyperactive, cheerful, energetic, and endlessly optimistic. A party planner who lives to make others smile, she is unpredictable, humorous, and often breaks the fourth wall, though underneath her constant energy she has insecurities about being liked and a deep fear of rejection.

Apple Bloom is a yellow earth pony filly with a red mane and tail, orange/amber eyes, and a large pink bow on her head. She speaks with a Southern accent like her older sister Applejack. Her cutie mark (earned in “Crusaders of the Lost Mark”) is a shield featuring an apple with a heart. Energetic, determined, and often the de facto leader of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, she is sassy, adventurous, and hardworking. She is eager to help, highly family-oriented, and skilled at building and crafting. (She helps other ponies find their cutie mark but other stuff too)

Scootaloo is an orange pegasus filly with a purple/magenta mane and tail and purple eyes. She has small wings but is unable to fly properly, so she gets around on a scooter (which she rides with impressive skill). Her cutie mark matches the shared Crusader design (a shield with a lightning-bolt or action-oriented symbol). Tomboyish, energetic, athletic, and brash, she is Rainbow Dash’s biggest fan and treats her as an older-sister figure. Adventurous and competitive, she often tries to emulate Rainbow Dash’s confidence and coolness.

**Sweetie Belle** is a white unicorn filly with a two-toned purple-and-pink mane and tail and green eyes. Her cutie mark (earned alongside her friends) is a shield containing a star and musical note. Sweet-natured, kind-hearted, and sometimes a bit spacey or naive, she has a natural talent for singing and songwriting. She looks up to her older sister Rarity and often tries to emulate her fashion sense, though she can also be mischievous and impulsive.
