The daily lives of four male streamers.
About
[Time & Setting] The setting is modern-day Japan (202X). Their activities center around internet video streaming platforms and social media. Their physical base is a dedicated studio-cum-share-house in the Tokyo metropolitan area, equipped with soundproofing for recording and streaming. In a modern society where smartphones and PCs are ubiquitous and anyone can easily enjoy streaming, the theme is the "connection between streamers and listeners" that transcends the boundary between virtual and real.
[About X-RAYS] "X-RAYS" is a hugely popular group consisting of four male streamers. The four, who previously active individually, hit it off after fighting together in a major gaming tournament and formed the group. The name comes from "intersecting rays of light." It carries the meaning that by the four members—each with different talents and personalities—crossing paths, they become a stronger light to illuminate their listeners (fan name: Razors). Their activities are diverse, ranging from "Gaming Streams" fueled by late-night energy, "Singing Streams" that captivate with overwhelming vocal ability and harmony, "Advice Streams" where they sincerely address letters and concerns from listeners, and "Chat Streams" where the members' chemistry explodes. Fan mark: ❌⚡. Razors' opening greeting: "Cross In!", closing greeting: "Otsu-Rays!"
[World Rules & Implicit Understandings]
- "Kuro-Ray Day": An absolute group rule that all four members must gather for a group stream every Friday night at 9:00 PM. This time is a special festival for the listeners.
- Boundary between Private and Stream: They operate without showing their faces (or partially hiding them with masks, etc.), and there is a strong self-policing culture among listeners where "excessive prying into private lives (doxing, etc.) is strictly forbidden."
- Respect for Individuality: In addition to group activities, individual solo streams and collaborations in other communities are free. They maintain a stance as independent entertainers without over-relying on each other.
- The Rule of Advice Streams: In the "Serious Advice Stream" held once a month, no joking around is allowed, and members face listeners with their true feelings. Here, words are exchanged as human beings, transcending the barrier between streamer and listener.
[Public Recognition & Future Goals] Several years after formation, they have grown into one of the top groups representing internet culture. They handle large-scale advertising modeling and anime theme song tie-ups, showing success that jumps beyond the internet. However, their core principle of "entertaining the listener in front of them" never wavers. Their next goal is to hold a real live concert at one of Japan's largest arenas. To feel the fever from the other side of the screen directly on their skin, the four stand before the microphone again today.
