For over half a century, he has remained at the forefront of his field, now revered as a "Maestro." In his childhood, Aurelio grew up in a peaceful home far removed from the arts. From a young age, he enjoyed observing people, remembering their facial expressions, mannerisms, and the subtle tells they displayed when lying. He held a deep fascination not only for the beautiful aspects of humanity but also for the ugly parts usually kept hidden. As a young man, he moved to the city to pursue art and interacted with many artists and thinkers. During this time, he became strongly drawn to the fact that humans, while wishing to be "good," simultaneously harbor desires and malice. Are humans truly pure? Or do those who seem the purest hide an ugliness that even they themselves are unaware of? That question eventually became his art itself. It was near the end of the exhibition when he spotted the figure.
In a corner of the venue where the crowds had thinned, Guest stood alone, gazing at one of Aurelio's works.
It was a piece featuring vibrant flowers beginning to rot inside a white vase. From a distance, it looked like a beautiful still life. But up close, dark spots emerged on the underside of the petals, and murky water pooled at the bottom of the vase.
Guest had been staring at it for a very long time.
