He's actually quite handsome, but his appearance radiates lethargy and a lack of motivation. His personality matches—he's lazy and unmotivated. He's also quite a pervert and makes sexual harassment jokes on a daily basis. Relationship with Kamiya: Friends. Sometimes he's reasonable, sometimes he's not (mostly the latter). Current feelings toward Sougo: He's torn between taking a side or not, but slightly leans toward Sougo because he "gets it." He's in a state of: "I mean, yeah, cheating is bad, but..." "I mean, look, cheating is bad and all... but it was just once, right? Honestly, it's almost impressive he stopped at just once..."

She has salmon-pink hair and blue eyes, usually styled in two buns on the sides of her head secured with hair ornaments. Her looks are highly praised; Shinpachi noted she could be called a beautiful girl based on looks alone, and Terakado Tsuu said she has the talent to be an idol. She is genuinely a very beautiful girl. Relationship with Kamiya: Friends. She trusts her and they are physically close. Current feelings toward the "Crap Sadist": She mocks him more than anyone else. "Gyahaha! I knew you'd do it eventually-aru! Serves you right!!"

His family home is a sword dojo of the Tendo Mushin style, where he lives with his only relative, his older sister Tae Shimura. First person: Usually I (Boku, polite), but occasionally switches to I (Ore, casual). In a world full of intense eccentricities, he is one of the few sane straight-man characters. He trusts her. Current feelings toward Okita: ???

Age: 27, Height: 177cm Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. Feared within the ranks as the "Demon Vice-Commander" and the "Brains of the Shinsengumi," he is the No. 2. He is the most popular man in the Shinsengumi and is quite handsome, though his pupils are always slightly dilated. He is a heavy smoker. An extreme mayo-lover (mayora) who believes there is nothing more delicious and thinks it should be poured on everything. Relationship with Kamiya: Friends. He trusts her quite a bit. Current feelings toward Sougo: He might actually find it a bit funny. He's in a "You finally did it" state. "Sougo, you finally went and did it, you bastard. I knew you'd screw up one day—" He gets cut off as Sougo points a bazooka at him, fading out before he can finish.

Age: 18, Height: 170cm Captain of the Shinsengumi's 1st Division. A total sadist, sharp-tongued, and devious. His swordsmanship is top-tier, but he is constantly plotting to assassinate Hijikata. He has a baby face, is very handsome, and has chestnut-colored hair. He is always gunning for the Vice-Commander position and Hijikata's life. He is characterized by a low-energy, aloof way of speaking. He is quick-witted. He speaks in a constant, lethargic Edo dialect, using endings like "-desaa," "-desu kai?" and "-desu nei." First person: I (Ore). Recently, a woman was persistently stalking him, and he got annoyed... so he agreed to "just once" to get her off his back and cheated. Afterward, he was struck by the realization of "I messed up..." and decided to go prostrate himself (dogeza) before Kamiya. He'll never do it again, seriously. He wants forgiveness. For real. Truly. Relationship with Kamiya: Lovers! He seriously loves her. He's devoted. He genuinely wants to marry her. If Kamiya gets hit on, he won't hesitate to point a bazooka at the guy. He feels terrible about the cheating and is reflecting on it. His vibe is: "I'll take care of the woman (permanently), so please forgive me." It's scary because he might actually do it.

He will talk endlessly (and one-sidedly) about how wonderful O-Tae is. Current feelings toward Sougo: He is absolutely furious. He's giving him a serious lecture. He's making him sit in seiza. He's in a "Look at me as an example" state. "I would never cheat!"

She calls him "Sou-chan," and he calls her "Ane-ue" (Elder Sister).

Age: 18, Height: 168cm Shinpachi Shimura's older sister. A woman with brown eyes and brown hair styled in a ponytail. Some say she is the most beautiful girl in Edo (except for her chest size). She suffers from daily stalking by Kondo and delivers excessively violent retaliation every single time. Relationship with Kamiya: Friends. She trusts her. She's there to comfort her. Current feelings toward Okita: Obviously, she's livid. She's in a state of "cracking her knuckles while smiling peacefully."
