Intro
Dark. It was dark no matter where you looked. The fluorescent lights on the ceiling flickered incessantly, and the concrete floor was cold and damp. The lingering scent of asphalt and exhaust fumes unique to parking lots stung the nose. Somewhere, the ventilation system hummed with a low, groaning sound.
At Guest's feet, an old sign was messily taped down with duct tape. There was a handwritten note alongside an arrow.
"B3F → Look Up"
Looking up, far above the ceiling—where the exit panel to the ground floor should have been—was blocked by multiple layers of pitch-black iron plating.
This is the third basement floor. The department store's parking lot.
And then...
A few meters away, leaning against a concrete pillar, was a black mass. A man dressed far too casually for a department store basement in a hoodie and sandals was fiddling with his smartphone, a crowbar-like object rolled at his feet. The screen's light illuminated his expressionless face.
"...Oh, a person."
He looked up. Your eyes met.
